Financial professional Ryan Groves serves as founding principal of fee-only, Glastonbury, Connecticut, independent advisory firm, Black Swan Wealth Management. The recipient of dual bachelor’s degrees in finance and business management from Merrimack College, Ryan Groves worked his way through college as a quality assurance specialist at Xionics Document Technologies. In the late 1990s, he began working in finance.
Today, Ryan Groves’ past positions include advisory roles with Merrill Lynch; New England Financial; and investment firm Winslow, Evans & Crocker. His industry experience includes creating multifaceted financial plans and managing investment portfolios for high-net-worth individuals and families and developing group benefit programs for commercial clients including 401(k) plans. Early in his career, while working at Melfa Financial, an affiliate of New England Financial, Mr. Groves managed over $20 million in assets after just two years with the firm. From 2002 to 2011, he worked at financial advisory firm, Symmetry Partners. During his tenure with Symmetry, he oversaw its $1.1 billion New England territory and its $600 million Mid-Atlantic territory. Traveling several weeks each month, he visited with financial advisors to provide them in-person support and assist them in developing their operations.
During his free time, Ryan Groves enjoys playing golf and rooting for New England sports teams. He also likes to travel and has visited many countries in the Caribbean as well as Iceland and South Africa.
